Opened in September 2002 Halfpenny Green had previously been known as Kartar Farm.Business man Harbans Singh Chatha had farmed the land for years and had decided with his family to convert the 60 acres of land into a nine-hole golf course and driving range. The land was previously owned by the Earl of Dudley and provides fantastic views of the Staffordshire hills, and on clear days the Clee and Wrikin hills in Shropshire.
The newly built clubhouse was a barn conversion where Mr.Chatha and his family host numerous events and societies. The local airport that is within view was used as an RAF base during the war and is still in operation. There is also a local vineyard, which contains some of the very best wine produced in the country, wine tasting tours and local gift shop.
The golf club now is still run and operated by Mr. Chatha and his family who provide the best possible golf facility and warm feeling family environment that optimizes a family run business in the Great British Countryside.
